The world’s financial institutions are missing some of the biggest risks coming from climate change because their forecasting horizons rarely extend beyond five years, said Dr Andreas Dombret, a member of the German Bundesbank’s board. Weather-related losses have tripled in the past 30 years. Are we currently underestimating these risks?
