The role of climate risks in banks’ risk management

The world’s financial institutions are missing some of the biggest risks coming from climate change because their forecasting horizons rarely extend beyond five years, said Dr Andreas Dombret, a member of the German Bundesbank’s board. Weather-related losses have tripled in the past 30 years. Are we currently underestimating these risks? In his speech at the National University of Singapore Dombret addressed this question and related issues.
