Recognition of foreign professional qualifications

Many Germans and many immigrants to Germany have acquired qualifications and degrees in other countries. In the past, these qualifications could not be put to optimal use, because assessment procedures and standards have been lacking. The new Recognition Act (from 1 March 2012) will establish a nationally standardized system of assessing foreign professional qualifications.
