I LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS

Please note that the German authorities can ask for a *legalization of Singaporean documents*.

To legalize a *civil* *document* (e.g. birth/marriage certificate) you have to

1) get a stamp "true signature" (authentification of the signature of the originator / registrar of the document) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Address: Sherwood Road Gate, Tanglin Road) and then

2) get a legalization from the German Embassy. The legalization is done on the spot during our visiting hours (Monday to Friday 8:30 – 12:30). The fee is 20 €.

For the legalization of *notary documents* please follow these three steps:

1)  get a legalization of the signature / seal of the notary from the “Academy of Law”;

2) get a stamp "true signature/document" from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Address: Sherwood Road Gate, Tanglin Road);

3) get a legalization of the document from the German Embassy during visiting hours (Monday to Friday 8:30 – 12:30). The fee is 40 €.

To legalize a *court or ACRA document* (automatically generated, therefore without signature and seal) you have to

1) get a cover sheet of the Registrar stating that the document is genuine. The Registrar has to sign and seal the sheet;

2) get a stamp "true signature/document" from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Address: Sherwood Road Gate, Tanglin Road) and then

3) get a legalization from the German Embassy. The legalization is done on the spot during our visiting hours (Monday to Friday 8:30 – 12:30). The fee is 40 €.

II LEGALIZATION OF SIGNATURES

For the legalization of your signature on a document you have to submit
- the document and
- your original passport.
The legalization is done on the spot during our visiting hours (Monday to Friday 8:30 – 12:30).
The fee depends on the value of the transaction (between 15 - 250 €).

III LEGALIZATION OF PHOTOCOPIES

For the legalization of photocopies you have to submit
- the original document and
- the number of photocopies you want.
The legalization is done on the spot during our visiting hours (Monday to Friday 8:30 – 12:30).
The fee is 5 € (aprox. 10 SGD) per set.
