Overview

A visa is not required for Singaporean tourists staying no longer than 90 days in a period of six months. However, you need to ensure that you have a passport that is valid for at least six months.

The most convenient way to travel within Germany is by train. Germany has a very extensive railway system. Special offers are available for international passengers.

Germany offers a wide range of accommodations, ranging from private rooms to chalets up to luxury hotels. For the budget traveller, bed-and-breakfast and youth hostels are widely available.

Tourist information offices in are centrally located in most of the cities; usually there is a booth at airports and major railway stations. They provide detailed information about local tourist highlights, events, accommodation, maps, etc.

Driving in Germany

If you are a on a short term stay in Germany (not longer than 185 days)  you can drive with a foreign driving license (either national or international).
Foreign national driving licenses which are not issued
- in German language or
- by a EU member state or
- according to Viena Agreement on traffic
have to be translated and the translation certified by the German Embassy.
